Nuziveedu Seeds Collaborates with IARI for Development of Advanced Pigeon Pea Varieties

Nuziveedu Seeds Ltd has taken a significant step forward in agricultural innovation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi. This collaboration focuses on the development and commercialization of three high-yielding Pigeon Pea varieties, aiming to enhance productivity and sustainability in pulse farming.

The agreement was formalized in the presence of several distinguished scientists and leaders from IARI. Dr. Vishwanathan, Joint Director of Research (JDR), played a key role in driving this partnership. His contributions have been instrumental in promoting research-driven advancements in agriculture. Alongside him, Dr. Gopalakrishnan, Head of Genetics at IARI, brings a wealth of expertise to this collaboration, particularly in the genetic improvement of crop varieties. Dr. Raje, Principal Scientist specializing in Pigeon Pea, also contributed her in-depth knowledge of pulses, emphasizing the importance of research in this crop’s development. Dr. Akriti, Head of the Zonal Technology Management (ZTM) division, provided her expertise in managing the commercialization process, ensuring the technology transfer from research to market.

This partnership between Nuziveedu Seeds and IARI is poised to introduce advanced Pigeon Pea varieties that will benefit farmers by improving yields, disease resistance, and adaptability to changing climate conditions.
